My grandson is a third grader now. With all the school closures due to the covid outbreak he had trouble with his reading and math skills. I originally enrolled him at the Sylvan learning center but I didn’t feel he was making the progress he should of. When I heard about ” that tutoring place” I thought lets give it a try. It was a good decision. My grandson’s reading and math have skills have greatly improved and he actually enjoys going there. Not to mention I saved money because Sylvan charges more.

Mathnasium did not work for our daughter and after 4 weeks at that tutoring place, her math confidence had skyrocketed and her attitude towards math is much improved. You will get a lot of one on one attention, and communication about your child’s progress at That Tutoring Place. The atmosphere is very relaxed and I think this has made my child’s experience better. It’s less intimidating and makes her feel comfortable. She loves that they have snacks and Gatorade too.

There are kids of all ages studying and doing homework, and I think it is great for my elementary aged daughter to see high school students working away at their homework as well. My child’s tutor, Ms. Sonia has been so patient and caring. I have seen so much parent communication from the owner and you can tell they really care about helping kids succeed, and treating children and adolescents with respect and care. I am so happy I found this tutoring service in our community!

I highly recommend That Tutoring Place for all your students’ needs.  I have two kids, Sophomore and Freshman, who have been going to Miss Carrie, Sonia, Peter and Rick for a couple of years. My son struggles with homework, deadlines, tests and quizzes daily due to ADHD.  They understand the struggle and have helped me with his 504 as well as manage the everyday stress of keeping up with homework expectations.

The staff is great as they fight for the kid(s), communicating with teachers and counselors if needed.  The focus isn’t always on homework but other skills such as time management, college prep and a little bit of mental health as my kids navigate the expectations with each level of high school. As a parent, who struggles to keep up with it all, it’s a blessing to have a team of people on your side who have years of experience teaching and mentoring.

Our child’s age is 17. Our child receives tutoring in a variety of subjects to include math, English, history, biology, Spanish, and test preparation. Our child was experiencing difficulty in many school subjects as early as elementary school. These academic struggles created a great deal of stress and anxiety for our child as well as her teachers. She found schoolwork frustrating and did not feel successful.

Our child has been with That Tutoring Place since elementary school and is now a successful junior in high school. That Tutoring Place has helped our child in all subjects in countless ways. They have helped her prioritize and organize, develop good study habits, break down difficult assignments in more manageable and understandable ways, assist her with test preparation and provide direction and encouragement. As a result, our daughter has been able to achieve her academic goals and most importantly, feel successful.

I guess you don’t realize how instrumental you have been in Andrew even walking across that stage~such a huge BLESSING💕! You have been such a source of relief in all the craziness his high school career has been~the Freshman frump, the Sophomore Slump, the SAT, the College & Career class pep talk, even the last minute “OMG he might have to take the SAT again!” You were even there assisting & celebrating his athletic accomplishments!

In retrospect your shining asset is you are in touch with the kids now & what is currently going on at the schools. You don’t provide a ‘canned program’. It’s evident you reach out to where the kids are both scholastically & emotionally. You always make it about the student and let us parents know we don’t have the only obstinate & unreasonable child in the universe. I could never express how comforting it was to be able to call you with an issue and have you assure me everything will be alright! Thank you!

My son Nikolas was a struggling student in Middle School. He did not thrive in large class sizes and was bored with school in general. He joined That Tutoring Place after his first semester in High School. He was not interested in tutoring. Carrie and her staff diligently worked with Nikolas on a daily basis helping him to organize his work, to complete his homework, and to provide extra assistance in order to fill the gaps of knowledge that he lacked from not paying attention to lectures at school. It did not take long for Nik to look forward to tutoring, especially when he realized that he was actually understanding the subject matter and that consistent hard work would provide him with higher grades. He received individual attention from the staff and Carrie kept a close eye on his grades while liaising with teachers when necessary.

Nikolas graduated from High School with exemplary grades. That Tutoring Place played an integral role in his success as a High School student. Nikolas is continuing his studies in Computer Science at the University of Washington (Bothell). That Tutoring Place taught him the skills to succeed in academics as they placed an emphasis on the development of effective study skills. I would strongly recommend That Tutoring Place as a resource for helping your child succeed.

That tutoring place is the one and only place that you get real tutors face to face with your child….carrie is awesome and so is her whole staff. My husband and i got a whole lot of run around and lots of money lost ……carrie is totally affordable yet worth every penny !

My 6th grader came in with all D’s and F’S and we were all stressed out and beat down…..in a matter of months i am a very PROUD parent of a A student. My student is happy go lucky and confident and enjoys school now. We gave her something our parents never gave us.

I stumbled upon “That Tutoring Place” May 2022. We were coming out of COVID, and the funky way of learning. Zachary, a Freshman in High School, had 5 F’s. All of us were at our wits end, especially Zachary who felt like a complete failure. I had started searching for a tutor for about a month when I walked into the office, and I looked at Ms. Carrie and said “HELP”. The philosophy they had rang true with both my husband and I. That afternoon I had Zachary in there meeting the team and she sat him down and came up with a plan they were both happy about. She looked at him… she saw him… she heard him… she wanted to help him. I sat and listened and answered questions only when needed. To me as a mom, that meant the world. It was also a great reminder that this is his education. I am proud to say he passed all his classes.

We started immediately back for Zachary’s Sophomore year (22-23) and little brother who is now a Freshman. Its part of our schedule. Come home, snack (she also has those there for the kids) and off we go. Both boys are holding amazing grades (mostly A’s in advance classes) and are happy and confident.

From Zachary: “Thank you for not giving up on me. Sometimes I don’t like you, but I know it’s for the best and you care.”
