Carrie St Marie (Miss Carrie)

Carrie St Marie (Miss Carrie)

Executive Director/Tutor

Carrie taught middle school and high school math and science in both the public and private sector for 15 years. She also coached volleyball, basketball, and track and field. She has been tutoring for 9 years, owning her own business for the last 7. She is also the mother of 4 boys ranging from ages 22 to 30.

It is unfortunate that not all learning styles match up with available teaching styles. I believe that given strategies and opportunities, all students can learn to be successful in all school environments.

Director of Elementary Ed./Tutor

Rick has taught secondary English in Washington Public Schools for over 30 years. In addition to his music education degree, he teaches private voice and piano locally and holds a Driver’s Education Endorsement.

I enjoy tutoring because it provides opportunities to work one-on-one with students. As a tutor, I can tailor each student’s session according to their individual learning style in a relaxed and nurturing environment.”

She has extensive experience with teaching technical subjects to adults, and now enjoys sharing her love of math, science, and writing with students of all ages.

I believe learning is easier when it is fun. Each student has a unique spark of curiosity and talent. It is my goal to tap into that and fan the flame of success.

Peter St Marie (Mr. Peter)

Peter St Marie (Mr. Peter)

Office Manager/Math Tutor

Peter has been tutoring for over 5 years, and trained in the math curriculum for both elementary and middle schools of the school districts we service. He also has training working with students with ADHD and helping with organizational strategies.

I want students to be successful in math. I don’t like it when I hear a student say “I’m not good at math or I hate math”. I believe when students get help when they first begin to struggle, then their math success will be positive. I know from experience that one on one tutoring is the best way to catch a student when struggling with homework.”

Kelsey Zachry (Ms. Kelsey)

Kelsey Zachry (Ms. Kelsey)

Tutor

Kelsey Zachry is a certificated elementary/middle school teacher with over five years of experience and has a Master’s degree in ELL. She specializes in helping beginning readers. Her skill set includes working with each student on their individual areas of improvement. She also works with teachers to correlate her teaching with what the student’s teacher is focusing on for that student.

Strong reading skills are fundamental. I work to meet all students where they are by assessing their strengths, areas of improvement, and personal interests to encourage focus and growth. I want reading to be fun for all learners.
